Received a few packages yesterday. One of them contained… a box.
With a loli in it! Awwwwwwwwwwww!

The loli is Noumi Kudryavka known from Key’s eroge Little Busters! Ecstasy.
This cute little figure is an extra that comes with the March issue of Dengeki G’s Magazine.
Still available from Hobby Search for 943 Yen: http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10104570 (Now with SAL shipping.)

After three weeks I’m finally able to write about my HTPC building process. Was a little bit delayed because of a shipment fail and a slow parcel service, but since yesterday it’s finally completely finished.

Bunch of boxes get! Now let’s take a look at the components:

Well the year just started but this game could be number one at the end of 2010 too.
I’m of course talking about Mass Effect 2. It’s out since last Friday but unfortunately Royal Mail isn’t as fast as I thought.

Already played until I reached the last chapter last week thanks to the interwebs and finally received the pre-ordered Collectors Edition today. Ordered it from Game for 45€ (a great deal because the German Collectors Edition costs 99€!). Quite weird as this version would be multilingual too. (Installed it in English of course.)

Looks like Madobe Nanami did a good job for Microsoft so far cause they released a few more
OS-tan theme packs for Windows 7 now. (Also available as zip file for Windows Vista or Windows XP.)

Have chosen the purple haired, red eyed girl with twin tails of course. She sounds so awesome. ^^
I recommend to set the sounds and wallpapers manually though. Cause otherwise you get messed up fonts (usually used on Japanese Windows systems) and weird coloured window colours.

Are you eyes hurting when you have to watch low definition crap too?
At least mine are and as I’m watching HD stuff since many moons ago, I guess I’ve tried every codec pack out there.
A little bit over one year ago I found the best one: CoreAVC
Until January 17, 2010 you can get the new released version 2.0 with complete Windows 7 support and 64bit codec for $12.95 / €7,04.
Just head over to their page and enter “CES” (without apostrophes) into the discount field.

I’m actually wondering why I didn’t mention CoreAVC anywhere on my blog yet. Since back then
So what’s so great about CoreAVC?
Well, it’s the fastest software based codec to decode H.264/MPEG-4 AVC content.
But the really important and cool feature is that it supports Nvidias CUDA. (The geeks among you can stop reading here I guess.)
Why should you use you CPU to decode HD material when your GPU is way more suited for it? A cheap Geforce 8/9 pawns a 1000€ CPU with such tasks after all.
If you have chosen wisely and got an Nvidia card from Geforce series 8 upwards your CPU can rest while you are watching 1080p stuff. Cool eh?

Looks like I haven’t written anything since a few weeks. Why? I don’t know to be honest. Maybe because I was hiding from Christians and their Christmas crap or because nothing interesting and blog able happened lately. (And no, K-ON season 2 isn’t worth mentioning. There are more qualified series, deserving another season out there. K-ON is just a moe blob, fanservice anime. It’s way to overhyped.)
I was quite inactive on the blogosphere lately, for several reasons I will discuss in 2010 for sure. Sorry for that.
Now on to the topic:
As some of you might know… my bandwidth sucks big time. Until now that is. The chaps from Telekom Austria finally noticed that I would need more speed here in the middle of nowhere in the Austrian countryside. And as soon as it became available I ordered:
The AON Super Kombi!
- 30Mbit down, 3Mbit up
- AON TV + HD package (with a movie library ~300 movies available atm)
- Phone of course

Delicious boxes get! Thompson VDSL router, splitter, AON Mediabox, Ruckus Media Acess Point.
