The iPad is here!

apple-iPad

That’s all… I thought we would get a tablet PC not an oversized iPod. FAIL

(Ok, the Archos is a little bit soso… but there are better ones out there.)

So the iPad is the “best way to surf the web”. I still prefer my 24″ monitors for some reason…

    Yeah, the iPad is a disappointment. It could have been usefull if they took Mac OS X as OS but in the end, it’s just a big iPhone without the phone features.
    For the same pricetag you can get a nice netbook with tablet features and a full functional OS (Win7).

    The new product line of Apple:
    iFail-in-everything, then iThrow-up, and i’m-been-so-picky-about-everything (in short iBSPAE).

    My iThrow is the last Apple thing in my Life.

    Didn’t watch your updates for a while, but then again I didn’t miss much (in quantity terms, of course – not degrading your entries here).

    How serious do your take this comparison yourself? You seem to be quite enamored about your ReiPhone (mine – a plain one – is going to the “bay” soon).
    Interestingly enough you chose a Windows Mobile phone as smart alternative to the iPhone? Seriously? I don’t know about the developer situation on those things. But the “smart people” probably like Android more.

    Another thing I am bold enough to assume is that “smart people” like having keyboards for their computers, because it’s the most efficient way to Getting Shit Done(tm).
    Call me old-fashioned, but I would prefer a good old (old?) netbook to a keyless pad thingie that’s NOT an ebook reader but claims to be a “computer”.

    There is one last resort when it comes to me + Apple. Sadly enough, there is no useful equivalent to a 160 Gig iPod Classic. My music library does not fit on a puny 64 Gig flash drive (all legally purchased CDs, mind you – I dislike online music purchases, even if it’s DRM free). Disabuse me of this belief if an alternative *does* exist.
    Gladly would I get rid of this piece of bloatware called iTunes.

    Oh, maybe a second-to-last resort. Maybe it’s a good idea to sell apple stocks now? The iPad might as well go the Newton way…

    @shin-kenji
    Yah, no flash, no multi tasking and so on. Would have expected to see a stripped down version of OSX running on that thing.

    @GREW
    Looks like you don’t like your iPhone anylonger.

    @battlecamel
    Yes, not much to blog about atm.
    I was alittle bit too much of an Apple fanboy when I got my iPhone yes, i admit that.
    To be honest I would like to get rid of my iPhone and T-Mobile contract but can’t get out of it. The iPhone is just too restricted (just like every other Apple device), yes mine is jailbroken but its still too weird. And it seems like it’s getting slower and slower.

    WinMo is not that bad. Especially the HTC version runs really smooth. The HD2 is great and I guess once WinMo 7 is released we can expect an even better experience. Android is alittle bit wacky in my opinion. Let’s see what the future brings, butr for now I would choose a WinMo smartphone.

    A touch keyboard is the best solution for a smart phone in my opinion. As it shouldn’t be that clunky and heavy and still come with a decent screen.
    But I have to agree with you cause they try to sell it as a netbook, which is kinda strange. Especially if you consider that you could get a netbook with tablet functionality for the same price… with a real OS not some mobile crap.
    Well they release a keyboard for the iPad.. lol, nothing more to add eh? –> Steve on drugs, again.

    I see your problem with the iPod there. And yes iTunes isn’t what I would call a good software, still have to use it to sync my apps and stuff. But you can use Winamp for the iPod Classic: http://mlipod.sourceforge.net/

    Could become the second newton, considering the responses out there so far: many are dissapointed- But maybe Apples brainwashing ads will fix this.

    When Steve Job convinced enough people to buy this iFail, at an inflated price without giving them adequate features that they so well deserved for the price they paid, it’s truly magically and revolutionary!

    Oh, btw, thank you for mentioning Virtual Box, I am using it now for Fortune Arterial

    yah, but according to Mr. jobs everyone will use HTML5 soon and Flash is the reason why Macs crash… no comment.

    @Wolfheinrich
    Yah, hopefully this will just drive people away from Apple. I can’t stand folks who lie that much in their commercials.
    No problem, glad you like Virtual Box.

    @zh3us
    Hehe, people who think that’s all they need for some tasks. There was a pretty funny article in German on Spiegel.de (http://www.spiegel.de/netzwelt/gadgets/0,1518,674468,00.html ): “Why I’m going to by an iPad for my Grandma (and not for myself)”. Sums it up pretty well.
