Web 2.0 data overflow & new all-in-one printer get
Are you literally living in front of your PC? Does your cyber brain receive more information than it can handle? Welcome to my world.
.
Every hour hundreds of Tweets are coming in, the RSS Firefox Add-on is refreshing every 5 minutes and digging for new entries on a few hundred feeds, your Instant messengers are going nuts sometimes and so are you. You are familiar with that situation, right?
.
A hard quiz, eh? But what would we do without Twitter? Seriously, who needs more than 140 characters anyway. ^_^
(It’s actually quite useful besides random “I’m busy with healthcare atm”-Tweets as we saw last week when Twitter was the only way left for Iranians to tell the worlds what’s going on.)
.
.So how do you manage to survive the data overflow? Any awesome brain upgrades or Apps you are using? Feel free to share your Web 2.0 survival tricks below or in the IRC.

Printing via Wi-Fi now, another step to fight the cable clutter. HP is offering a iPhone App too. Yeah!
The print quality is awesome compared to the old printer. Looks great with glossy photo paper.
The HP printer setup became much better in the last few years ^^; The HP 5510 setup was epic FAIL back then… don’t want to think back.
Connecting to the printer works fine with every device all over the house. And while the old one was hidden underneath the desk this one can be placed wherever you like not only because of the Wi-Fi but because it has a nice design too. White and glossy… goes well with… you know what, right?
As the glossy parts are white you won’t see those fingerprints you have all over the glossy black stuff usually. But seems like Saber has spotted a few smudge xD

Close TweetDeck.
If you are busy close it.
But no. I’m not setting all day long in front of my PC.
I’m playing Games on my 360 too!
Congrats to the new printer.
But I think Canon is better.
We had an HP scanner and it’s only make problems.
Canon ftw!
I’m on a couple of social networks now (actively participating); one is Facebook and the other is Twitter. But I feel that Twitter takes the cake as the most time-absorbing app in my list. Although I too at first complain about the 140 character limit of Twitter (like you said, what can you say in 140 characters!), I noticed that you can do a lot with 140 characters! Just by following a group of otakureans have me jaw-dropped at what they can say! But, I use Twitter mainly for information sharing and chatting up with fellow comrades. It’s fun to see what they are up to (especially yourself with all things Apple! ^^) and chatting with them regarding the topics they were on.
What I use for integrating Twitter in my life? I’m using TweetDeck (for Windows) and Twibble (for my Sony Ericsson phone). These two are killer apps, if you asked me! ^^
Another app that is an evil in my list of time/pleasure-killing is Google Reader. I used a number of RSS aggregrators in the past, but Google Reader tops them off. With a whole list of feeds to catch up on, I rarely miss fellow comrades’ posts. Plus, I aggregate stuff from LifeHacker, TokyoTosho, Gizmodo, engadget and Soccernet (just to name a few) so I never am late for any updates!
Congrats on the new printer purchase! Maybe you can show off some of your results of the printing? ^^ Or maybe a dakimakura (which is impossible, me thinks) ^^
It´s really simple for me. I don´t use Twitter xD
But you´re right. Things like Twitter are really helpful for the jorunalism.
hmmm for me it’s more rss readers killing my productivity than it is tweets or chat. same result though ^^; perhaps my problem is not trying to filter… it’s binary on or off… so i’m either drowning or suffering from withdrawal ^^;;
can’t remember the last time i had a nice printer. mostly all i print is my tax returns ^^;;
Yeah, I use Google reader to follow blogs of fellow comrades and it really helps a lot especially when there’s a Feed Folder called “OTAKU COMRADES” ^^
As for twitter, I use the Flock browser which integrates twitter, flickr, facebook and many other stuff into the browser so I don’t need to switch apps all the time!
Yah, Tweetdeck is great using it on my PC and on the iPhone. All things Apple? Unfortunately it isn’t like that, yet.
Wonder how I should show the printing results, taking pictures of printed out pictures? Sounds kinda weird.
Haven’t seen a Dakimakura printing option xD
Well I have my RSS reader built into Firefox and Tweetdeck is always running on the second screen so I always able to see what’s going on too.
Flockr is basically a Firefox mod right? But I guess they are runinng on the old Firefox 3 “platform” atm.
I didn’t try Flock browser yet… Is it some kind of new internet browser? If it integrates well with Twitter and Facebook, then I might consider using it…
OTAKU COMRADES FTW! ^^
Not using Twitter is not an option ^_^
HP vs Canon? I don’t care. The offer from HP was just better within that price range.
Gotta love those tax returns ^^. Extra spare cash for more figures.
