Room upgrade (Phase 2 of 4)

When I came home yesterday evening (Only 4 days in the army this week!) I was greeted by two parcels in my room.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

The bigger one contains the first of my two new screens, replacing my 22” Syncmaster 226BW.

The new one is a Samsung Syncmaster T240 with the following specs:

Screen Size: 24" wide
Resolution: 1920 x 1200 (WUXGA)
Brightness: 300 cd/m²
Contrast Ratio: DC 20,000:1 (1000:1) (typ.)
Viewing Angle: 160º / 160º (CR>10)
Video Signal: analog RGB, DVI, HDMI
Sync. Signal: separate H/V, composite, SOG
Connector: 15 pin D-SUB, DVI-D, HDMI
Power Consumption: 55 watts
Stand By Power (DPMS): < 2 W
Special Features: low power consumption (0.3 W power off, 60 W operating power), LED brightness control, MagicBright3, image size, color effect, customized key, MagicWizard & MagicTune, Windows Vista Premium, DVI with HDCP, safe mode, SPDIF

And finally my screen is able to display:

  • Full-HD movies:

HD_mov

  • Full-HD animu:

HD_animu

  • Games in Full-HD:

Call of Duty 5 is… too short!

The monitor quality is Samsung like, which means I didn’t find anything negative worth mentioning. If you are searching for a good 24” display with a cool design, I can warmly recommend the T240.

The small parcel contained a cold cast 1/6 Revy from Black Lagoon. More pictures will follow tomorrow.

    @ Blowfish:
    And I wonder how somebody can survive with such a small screen^^ xD
    Where do you watch anime?

    Wow man that’s really awesome. I’m inspired to revamp my own room but I don’t know how much longer I’ll be in it!

    Im watching Animes on my 15″ or TV
    Okay I can understand that you want to see Animes on the big screen but why 2 screens?

    @ Blowfish:
    To watch 2 anime at the same time? Just kidding.
    It’s really convenient if you have two screens, cause you can have a few programs open at the same time without minimzing them and so on.

    Nice. Bin mir auch gerade am überlegen, ob ich mir noch einen zweiten 30 Zöllner von Apple zulegen soll. Wobei mein wieviel Zoll auch immer Beamer ist immer noch das mehrbeste Animeerlebnis. Und Animus soll man schliesslich geniessen! Bigger Screens = Wrin! Ich glaube 15 Zoll würde ich definitiv nicht ertragen. Hab schon grosse Mühe mit meinem 19ner hier im Büro. ^^;

    @Melonpan:
    Zweiter 30″ Screen = moar win!
    Aber wieso denn eigentlich Apple Displays? Außer teuer sein können die nämlich wirklich nichts!

    Doch. Schick aussehen und stylish sein. So ziemlich das Mehrwichtigste im Leben. ;-)

    @Melonpan:
    Naja, da spare ich lieber einige hundert Euronen und kauf mir ein ebenfalls schickes, qualitativ mehrbesseres Samsung Display, aber jedem das seine.
